Morgan James Phoenix Concert reviews
Very Disappointing
The evening started disappointingly when Quinn Sullivan, the opening act, took the stage, not his play, the sound system. My hair and clothes were literally moving with every hit on the bass drum and note on the bass guitar. Why anyone would think that placing four foot high woofers on the floor five feet from the first row was the right thing to do is beyond me. After the opening act, Morgan James finally came on stage with a very long intermission. I am not immune to foul language but when the performer is on stage telling people in the audience to "Shut the F up" because they are yelling out "Buddy!!" it is a bit much. Quinn Sullivan is a superb guitar player at age 12, too bad I could not enjoy it. We left our front row sets, my friend went home and I stood in the back. Standing in the back, the sound level was still ridiculous, but I stayed to see and hear this "legend" play. I spoke to someone later who stayed in the front row and they said that the speakers had to be moved back after the first act as they had vibrated a foot and a half closer to the audience! He couldn't get through any talking to the audience without dropping F-bombs left and right. Paid top dollar for front row seats and stood in the back!!! At one point he invited the audience to sing part of a song then stopped playing to tell them that they were "F-ing up the song"......really? Great guitar but the rest was just ridiculously loud garbage. The epitome of this was when he was about to bring Quinn Sullivan back on stage at the end of the show and could not help himself from saying F this and F that while he was introducing the 12 year old to the crowd.
